NEW YORK, NY, May 11th –
For the first time ever, a collection of paintings
and published pen & inks from the 1930's and
40's by Dr Seuss will be available for the public
to see and purchase. Valued at more than a quarter
of a million dollars, these pieces have perked even
the interest of a couple of museum curators, who
intend to view the collection. A dozen pen &
inks commissioned by Uncle Sam during WWII are also
on exhibit, in addition to a collection of more
contemporary watercolors and pen & inks, and
the first bronze sculpture from a limited edition
series available for the public to see and purchase.
Animazing Gallery is located at 461 Broome Street,
between Greene and Mercer Streets, and is open 7
days. Admission is free, and the exhibition runs
through Labor Day, 2006.

| One of the watercolours was in the estate of
the Macy family since the early 1940's, and another was published
in 1939 in "The King's Stilts" in 1939. Few published
originals from the children's books of Dr Seuss have ever
been available to the public, as the artist's estate remains
almost entirely intact, in the private residence of his widow.
The Bronze is available as a monumental piece; it is expected
to weigh in at more than a ton, and be approximately eight
feet tall.
Since 1984, Animazing Gallery has been New York's premier
exhibitor of animation art, fine art by contemporary masters,
and American craft. Animazing has locations in the heart
of New York’s Soho district, in the Westchester village
of Hastings-on-Hudson, the French Quarter of New Orleans,
Chateau Belcastel in the south of France and on line at
www.animazing.com.
