DAFFY DUCK THROWS HIS BEAK INTO THE
RING
Little Black Duck, Known to Millions, Will Compete for the USA’s
Highest Office
"I promise a ‘rabbit’ in every pot!"

New York, New York---Speaking from the
front steps of his campaign headquarters at Animazing
Gallery in New York’s SoHo district, Mr. Duck declared
today his candidacy for the office of President of the
United States of America. Citing the appalling lack of
laws that govern the movement and lives of rabbits Mr.
Duck stated that, if elected, he will introduce legislation
that will declare ‘Rabbit Season’ open 12 months a year.

| Born in 1937 in Hollywood,
California, Daffy Duck like many a politician before him first gained
notoriety as an actor. Hie premier in the Warner Bros. Cartoon Porky’s
Duck Hunt, Daffy Duck has an amazing range of acting
style and ability due to his unique relationship with many of the
Warner Bros. directors. From the all-out zaniness of Bob Clampett
and Tex Avery to the shifty-eyed scheming of Chuck Jones. In a delightful
slew of other cartoons from the likes of Friz Freleng and Bob McKimson,
Daffy Duck has demonstrated his consistent ability to remain at
the peak of his performing powers throughout his 67 years in the
spotlight. He does not feel that his age will negatively impact
his performance as President should he be elected (he is, after
all, freshly drawn each morning.) |

Daffy Duck for President, a new limited edition
giclée on paper by Chuck Jones, is having its inaugural
release at Animazing Gallery (461 Broome Street, Soho, NY). Coinciding
with the Republican National Convention, Daffy Duck for
President is a original watercolors by lovingly created
Chuck Jones for his 1997 book of the same title. The book explores
and examines the way that the United States Government and its
three branches of power operate, with Daffy guided by his archrival,
Bugs Bunny, as they explore our foundation of freedom, the Constitution.

With the edition size of Daffy Duck for
President limited to just 100 examples, Animazing gallery owner,
Heidi Leigh says “there’s no time like the present to swear your
allegiance to the Duck!” Campaign buttons are being distributed
to the faithful at the gallery as well.
Chuck Jones’ career at Warner Bros. Animation spans the entire
history of the studio and most of the history of animation itself.
His work has been celebrated by the movie industry, exhibited
in galleries and museums, and inducted in the National Film Registry.
Daffy Duck for President is a project that had
been close to Chuck’s heart, a wry affirmation of the democratic
process.
